The Origins and
Evolution of Kefalos Hotels
Kefalos Hotels has a rich history dating back to the 1990s. It all began when the managing director, at the young age of 30, opened the Kefalos Damon Hotel Apts in Paphos, Cyprus. This hotel was unique in that it offered self-catering facilities, a concept that was relatively new at the time. The hotel’s prime location in Paphos, a popular tourist destination, contributed to its immediate success.
Building on this success, the managing director saw an opportunity to innovate and create a new type of accommodation that would cater to the changing needs of tourists. Thus, in 2000, the Kefalos Beach Tourist Village was born. This holiday village was designed to offer all the facilities of a hotel, but with the added benefit of larger rooms and self-catering facilities in the form of sugar cube blocks, which were more spacious and appealing than traditional tall buildings.
Over the years, Kefalos Hotels has invested heavily in both hotels, adding extra facilities, rooms, and renovating existing spaces to keep up with the evolving needs of their guests.
